Subject: all things work together for good |
Bible Note: fran1946 Your absolutely right but remember there is more to the verse than, 'All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord.' It also says and is called to His purpose. We can do things that are not to God's purpose and the good that comes out of it might be the chastisement to teach us not to do it again. The old adage if you play with fire your going to get burned is true. However we understand the pain we feel when we are burned is to make us draw back so we don't do more damage. Many times this is how this verse plays out. We do something we really shouldn't be and God allows us to feel pain in one form or another to make us draw back so we don't do more damage to ourselves. Some people resist any thought that God would allow something bad to happen to us as His way of teaching us something. Yet as you said look at Joseph one bad thing after another happened to him until God got him in the place he wanted him. I believe nothing happens by chance but rather everything is orchestrated by the divine hand of God. There is not such thing as luck or chance. EdB |
