Bible Question: Is there any certain reason in 1 Samuel why instead of saying just Isreal that for example in chapter 17;52 it says Isreal and Judah. Is there a reason why Judah is written apart from Isreal? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Sissy! This is just speculation on my part, but there was a growing geographical divide between Judah and the northern tribes of Israel. Judah was the first to crown David as king, followed by the northern tribes. Later, Judah and the northern tribes split after the death of Solomon. So, I would say this is probably why they are mentioned seperately. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
