Bible Question:
I have a student that says that Hebrew and Jewish/Judism are different. That Hebrew is a diferent religion altogether. Is that true? |
Bible Answer: Hebrew is definitely not a seperate religion, but instead, denotes a person who is a member or descendant of a Semitic people claiming descent from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. A hebrew is also known as an Israelite, or a Jew. For someone to claim that they are Jewish, does not necessarily mean that they share a bloodline with Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob, but instead, believes only in the Old Testament, or rather, the "Torah", "The Prophets", and the "Kethubim". |
