Subject: Is there a prophet in the last days? |
Bible Note: Hi Hank, Your Luke 1:17 reference would indicate that John the baptist was a forerunner before Christ. Christ is our Prophet, Priest, and King. Elijah and John were simply prophets. When one compares Luke with Malachi 4:2 we might choose the NKJ with its capitalization. "But for you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this," says the Lord of hosts." Our Prophet has already come in the Person of the Messiah. This knowledge should cause us to, as the NASB says, "go forth and skip about like calves from the stall." Or, grow fat like stall-fed calves, NKJ. The evildoes will be chaff and ashes, left with no root or branch. If only they would know the Root and the Branch. Amen? Later, Ray |
