Bible Question: Good word of encouragement. But the fact remains Mormons, Jehovah Witness, and other can motivate their people to get off the pew and out into the world. Why don't Christians have that same type of motivation? Jesus gave us the command to “Go”. Don't we have an obligation to do just that? Jesus said if you love Me you will obey Me. Does this lack of willingness to “Go” speak also of our lack of love for Christ? |
Bible Answer: EdB, Yes and no. Yes, it shows the lack of love for Him and our neighbor. If we loved Him, we would keep His commandments (Exo 20:6, Jhn 14:15, 1Jn 5:3). One of His commandments was to GO. We are also supposed to pray (Mat 9:37-38). As one who goes, I do need prayer support. There is a battle for the souls of men. I say no, because the church of Ephesus did many things, yet forgot their first love (Rev 2:2-4). There are people who go and do ... but do not spend time with Him. We need to do both. Steve |
