Bible Question: After having read through many of your posts, I have a question that has bothered me, concerning the answers to questions posted? Why do none of you draw upon your own personal experience with God? Many of you are no doubt well versed in the Holy Scriptures, however, you spend so much time in discussions about the true meaning of each and every word, instead of the Spirit of the words and your own experience with God. Jesus has said explicitly that God is spirit and that the kingdom of God is neither here nor there, but that it is inside of each of us. Why then do you neglect your own revelations? |
Bible Answer: Hello with faith i walk, Welcome, Our beliefs are our personal revelations. Personal experience is not a reliable guage for TRUTH. Jesus said "My Word is Truth". Experience confirmed by the Word of Truth is reliable. We are a very diverse group here on the forum...many different beliefs. Though occasionally one of us will share a personal experience, our personal experience is not likely to 'change' anyones beliefs. And in reality, neither does debating scripture it would seem. But if we share both, purhaps someone will go away with a seed planted that will change our belief and change our life. The Holy Spirit is the 'illuminator'. God bless |
