Bible Question:
I want to do a sermon on Prayer. How to and why. I am not a preacher. I have only given two sermons before. Please give me some scriptures. |
Bible Answer: In I Timothy 2:1-7 Paul writes to Timothy the four ingredients of prayer: 1.) Supplication- asking for needs, 2.)Prayer-this suggests worship and adoration, 3.)Intercessions-requests on the behalf of others, 4.) Giving of thanks-being thankful for who He is and what He has done. You can mention that keeping a prayer journal is helpful in seeing how God has worked in your life in the past and be encouraged in each trial you go through. Both first and second Timothy are full of encouragement for the young, new pastor. You can glean riches from these sacred passages that will not only help you in your ministry but bless you. |
