Bible Question:
I have a question regarding the difference of opinion on certain issues. What's up with the attitudes?? We're suppose to share the Word with Love and Humility. We're not going to always agree with our brothers or sisters. For some of us, our Spiritual Education is on a lower level than others, and some of the replies I've read are nothing short than anti-biblical. But is that reason enough to become upset with one another?? Whatever happen to Blessed are the Peace Makers?? I'm under the impression that scripture says that if we have fault with our brethern, then reconciliation should be made quickly before the problem escalates. I personally believe that within that commandment, reconciliation should be made rather we are at fault or not. Keeping the peace is more important than Pride. I've been reading alot of the notes being passed between what are suppose to be mature christians, and I sense hostility, with very little apology. Jesus didn't give up on the lady at the well because she just didn't get it at first, neither did He give up on Nicodems, and I don't know if he ever understood at all, but in neither case did Jesus turn around and refuse to stop trying, or blow them outta the water because they just didn't get what He was saying. And before anyone wants to go and get all technical on these examples, their just that, examples. The point being, lets choose our words a little more carefully; keep our tempers in check, and if necessary pray before we give our responces. Remember: 1. The truth is suppose to be shared in Love and with Humility. 2. Anything that is not done in love is done in vain. And 3. There are a number of mature christians on this site, lets act like it. I'm crucified daily off this site by the world, I do not need to be, nor witness crucifixion on this site by my brothers and sisters oover something like a differenc of opinion. The CurtMan |
Bible Answer: The CurtMan, greetings ... First, you don't cite any Scripture ... and because there are different levels of maturity, please site Scripture. I think you misunderstand "Blessed are the peacemakers" (Matt 5:9) ... it doesn't mean peace between each other, but peace between ourselves and God. This is based on the context (vv 3-12). We will have disagreements, each one with their views supported by the Bible. It is dangerous to say it is "anti-biblical". You also misunderstand "I'm crucified daily" ... which I cannot find in the Bible. Where is this in the Bible? Are you willing to die for what you believe? Also, where is "share the Word with Love and Humility" in the Bible? Searcher |
