Bible Question:
Do church goers begin to embrace certain teachings, because they have been indoctrinated by denominational creeds, and statements which they would not have otherwise arrived at, had they just stayed home and prayerfully read, studied, and mediatated on the Bible? In other words, can denominations be a hinderance to correct orthodoxy? Can you provide examples? |
Bible Answer: Greetings New Creature! Having pastored for many years now, and being involved in the church for about 32 years now, I would say that the greater danger is that those who stay away from church will be led astray. I really don't see indoctrination as a major problem in the organized church simply because the average Christian doesn't really know what their church teaches anyway! The list of reasons to attend or not attend a particular church seldom includes doctrine! :-( There is a greater danger of becoming lone ranger Christians, than of being indoctrinated.
