Subject: How did Paul die and when ? |
Bible Note: Hi, Steve. I've been thinking about the life and times of the great Apostle, Paul. Always zealous in what he did, even as a Pharisee who, in cahoots with his goon squad, persecuted Christians. Then after his encounter with Christ, he put all his enormous energy into the great enterprise that the Lord assigned to him. He was beaten, stoned, jailed, shipwrecked, often went hungry, was deserted by friends and fellow workers, and as if this wasn't enough to endure, he had his famous thorn in the flesh to put up with. But look at all the things that this mighty man of God accomplished. And then came the end and, as tradition has it, they chopped his head off. And to think that there are Christians living in America today who think they have it hard! How namby-pamby can these weaklings get? We all of us would do ourselves a big favor by reviewing the life and times of Paul every so often. It will help us keep things in perspective. --Hank |
