Bible Question:
My question is simple. Since God is an All-knowing God, and nothing that happens, happens without Him knowing, why do we pray. No matter what we say in our prayers, what was supposed to happen will be happening. God already knows what will happen and our praying will not change the fact that God already knew what was going to be done.... Thanks for your help!!! |
Bible Answer: 1 Timothy 2 verse 1 reads as follows: First of all then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men. Prayer is your way of communicating with God. He is very concern with your thoughts, concerns and cares. Believe it or not you have a say so in your life and how it goes. And how can your request be heard if you don't share with the Lord how you feel. Communicating with God brings about a intimate relationship with him. Where He knows you personally and you Him. God saves a person because they ask Him into their lives. God just doesn't barge His way into your life. Can you imagine being saved and you really don't want to be. That's like being made to go somewhere you hate going. God is a gentleman. The same with prayer. If you don't want a particular thing happening in your life tell it to the Lord. Psalms 37 verse 4-5 says Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it (NASB). In this walk with the Lord we are not robots...The benefits of communicating to the Lord daily is to get your prayers answered. God is not limited He can, will and have changed His mind about many a things..like getting after us after our sin...I'm sure most of us would be dead if there were no mercies. And mercies are new every morning. He (God) changes his mind about getting after us regarding sin daily because of the blood of JESUS. And sometimes the Lord has someone interceding on your behalf and you don't even know of it. In Exodus God was about to destroy the Israelites and Moses stood before the Lord and said "how are you going to destroy these people you made a covenant with"? Moses say take me instead...The Lord's anger subsided and He changed his mind regarding his people and their lives were spared. Now there are times when God wants a certain thing to be done and prayer and nothing else can move His hand...But I can attest and I've been in this walk 20 years.....Your prayer matters, and it can and will change the course of your life..Just because something is about to happen to you doen't mean it has to happen...Prayer can and has change the course of this world...I hoped I helped you!!!!!! |
