Bible Question: I was going through somethings. I got on my knees and I asked God for an answer. The very next day this young man appeared in my life. I believe that he is my answer. How can I be sure? Is there anything that I can read to know for sure. |
Bible Answer: Dear young person and new Christian: From the drift of your questions, do I rightly assume that this one too pertains to your apparent struggle with homosexuality? Be assured of two things: [1] I tell you on the authority of God's word that your temptation is not unique (you are not alone) and that you can be victorious in your struggle: "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide a way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." (1 Cor. 10:13). Take this advice -- it is not mine, but God's advice -- and keep on taking it. Commit this verse to memory, drive its profound truth deep in your mind, saturate your thoughts with it, think on it every day. It has awesome power; God is speaking to you through it and by it He can change you, and He will, too, if you will put yourself in His hands. [2] True pastors and Christian counselors are God's servants, and you should avail yourself of their wisdom and counsel. They may well be able to lead you into effective counselling programs that are designed specifically for dealing with the very problems you may be experiencing. There are fine Christian counselors who once were troubled with similar problems, have overcome them, and now are able to help others. God go with you, young Christian, and may you through Him fight the good fight and emerge a victor! --Hank |
