Bible Question: Where on the map would each of the ancient civilizations be today: Macedonia-Greek, Persian empire, Babylon and Roman empire. I'm specifically looking for what countries today would have been the physical locations for the ancient civilizations. Thanks Chusarcik |
Bible Answer: Greetings again Chusarcik, The Persian ancient empire extended from the Indus to Thrace, and from the Caspian Sea to the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. In Ezekiel 27:10, Persia is described as a vast region in Asia, the southwestern province of which lying between ancient media (Asia Minor, Northern Africa) on the north and the Persian Gulf on the south, appears to have been the ancient Persia, and is still called Pharsistan, or Fars. See also Ezekiel 30:5, 38:5. Blessings to you, Makarios |
