Bible Question: Is the big-bang theory even remotely realistic? |
Bible Answer: Dear Itisfinished, Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Ex 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, This is the reality. God created the universe and everything in it in the space of six days and all very good. The Big Bang does not really give us a beginning. It says matter and space have always existed. Well, If it has always existed, then as far as we know the universe has always been expanding and contracting. There was no "first" big band. The theory is correct, however, in saying that there MUST be something that has always existed, but the Bible says that it WAS NOT matter and space. They did have a beginning. They were created by God commanding them to be. What has always existed, according to the Bible is the personal, Triune Lord God Almighty. Ps 33:6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host. Ps 33:9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Peace, |
