Subject: Women in pants? |
Bible Note: jlpangilinan It is not what you wear it is the intent. God does not want women to dress like men and men to dress like women with the intent of portraying themselves as of that sex. We now call them cross dressers. At the time of Jesus women wore a garment like or very similar to pants. I think they could best be described as pantaloons or flowing garments that were around each leg and brought up and secured around the waist. Men on the other hand wore what we would call loincloth and a robe or tunic which is very close to today’s dress. So it is almost the exact opposite of fashion today. Don’t get hung up on what their wearing, look at the intent. If someone is dressing to show off their figure then there is a problem. If they are dressing to portray themselves as different sex than they really are then there is a problem. If someone is dressing modestly and acting normal then there isn’t a problem. EdB |
