Bible Question: HELP! Is it Okay to give God an ultimatum. To ask him for something (reasonable and not material) if I stop a vice that I have eg. smoking |
Bible Answer: Dear Wanderer: "Utilmatum" has been defined as "a demand accompanied by a threat to inflict some penalty if the demand is not met". I hardly think you mean to direct such a threat toward God. Bartering with God is not a good plan. Why not approach Him with a broken and contrite heart... asking Him for what it is you need. Twenty-five years ago when I stopped smoking... I needed all the help from God I could get. You seem to be able to stop it on demand which I would certainly encourage you to do. It makes the pages of your Bible easier to see. |
