Bible Question:
WHAT SHOULD ONE SAY WHEN A FRIEND ASKS YOU WHY YOU DON'T DRINK OR GO TO PARTIES AND DANCES AT SCHOOL. |
Bible Answer: Greetings ENS!! First off, I would like to commend you for your strength in resisting your peers' pressures on you to do something you do not feel comfortable doing. To add to the excellent posit offered by SSprln, I would offer the following: 1 Pet 2:13 Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, 1 Pet 2:14 or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right In other words, God(through the Apostle Peter) is commanding us to obey the laws of the land.(I am assuming that you are in high school? If not, then I apologize) And in all 50 states, you must be 21 to drink alcohol(although there are some people well over 21 who should not drink at all. But I digress) So, you have Scripture on your side there. As far as dancing itself, no there is no biblical prohibiton as long as it is done in a dignified manner. However, when it is done in a lewd and lascivious manner, then it does become disgraceful. May the Grace of our Lord be with you!! 2nd Samuel 22 |
