Bible Question: I've just been to a jewish website. They have some very good articles especially on upbringing and that sort of thing. However, their dislike for Christians is so deep and even devote some space on their website on how to not get converted. We, on the other hand do not spend half as much time on them. What am I missing here? |
Bible Answer: If I am understanding the question correctly....Christians do not take Jews seriously because the Jewish traditions are a part of Christian ideals. The New Testament is a fulfillment of the Jewish Bible (Old Testament). Remember that the early church started in Jerusalem with the conversion of Jews to Christianity. Paul's mission started out going from synagogue to synagogue in different cities to preach the fulfillment of the prophecies. This was a great threat to the anti-Christian Jews of the time. Also there was a movement where Jews found Christianity to be originally a Jewish religion. This was changed during the conference in Jerusalem with Paul and other Jewish Christians where Christianity was to reach out beyond Jewish laws. Christianity as a real threat to the Jews. Our Jesus is an answer for their wait for a Messiah. Jews on the other hand are not a threat to Christianity. In fact we simply embrace Jews and their traditions. |
