Subject: Church of Christ doctrine |
Bible Note: Dear Jenson,in response to your documentation taken from CRI,the Churches of Christ are not a movement. They are simply Christians that meet together each week on the first day of the week which are trying to pattern their worhip of God through Jesus Christ as did the First Century Church. The movement called the Restoration Movement which was started at the turn of the century of early 1800 is more accuratly the examle that is needed to be given in your reference. These Christians had no intentions of starting a new Denomination or Religion, but to simplify and eliminate the traditions of men from the worship.Their desire was not to separate Christians but to unify and to help them to realize that the reformation from the Catholic Doctrine only achieved another traditional form of worship. These congragations only desire to worship God through Jesus Christ as the Christians of the first century were taught by the Apostles as directed by the The Holy spirit. I know that there are many false teachings of the Gospel today in the Christian world, but the Churches of Christ I attend each week on the Lord's Day are not a cult by any means.God Bless You Jenson and I pray that you will continue to seek the truth of the Gospel and speak the name of Jesus Christ boldly, because His name saves us all.rpvzgc |
