Subject: What are the 5 missing books of OT? |
Bible Note: Steve you listed the books of the Apocrypha I think the answer the questioner was looking for was the books mentioned in the Old Testament that we do not have. Books like Book of Jashar, Josuha 10:13 Chronicles of the Kings of Israel 1 Kings 14:19 Chronicles of the Kings of Judah 1 Kings 14:29 Although some believe these to first and second Chronicles. Book of the Wars of the Lord Nu 21:14 Book of Genealogy Neh 7:5 Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia Esther 10:2 Some suspect this to be the book of Daniel. Book of the Acts of Solomon. 1 Kings 11:14 Book of the Covenant also called the Book of the Law 2 Kings 23:2 Thought to be the Pentateuch Book of Enoch not mentioned but various copies pop up. Book of Eden again not mentioned but various copies pop up. Most of these books show up at one time or another but the validity of all of them has to be questioned. They are not to be considered Books missing for the Old Testament, but rather books mentioned in the Old Testament which we don’t have copies to. I assure anyone if God wanted them in the Bible they would be there. God did a spectacular job of preserving the rest and I know God did not fall short on these. EdB |
