Bible Question: So I don't have to have them? What about the dedication, can it be done in my home? (Is there scripture to back it up?) |
Bible Answer: Hello eagle11 There is no Scripture saying parents should have a formal dedication. Dedication is really a determination by the parents to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4). Often times the example of Hannah dedicating Samuel to God (1 Samuel 1) is used to show we need to do this in a more formal way, but that is only one instance and cannot be considered normative.
