Bible Question: According to the bible, what is permitted in a relationship before marriage? |
Bible Answer: Hello sunnyh That question is usually asked with the intent of determining what a couple can do physically or sexually without "breaking the rules." Or it's used to find out if someone has already broken the rules. Scripture plainly states that fornication is wrong (Matt 15:19; 1 Cor 6:9). The strictest definition for this word is sexual intercourse by an unmarried person. It can, however, rightly be broadened to include all that leads up to it. So to answer your question Biblically, the only things I know that are ALWAYS permitted in a premarital relationship are fellowship, worship, discipleship, teaching, and prayer. Beyond this you have to set your own limits. Steve |
