Bible Question: please give specific scripture that such as trusting or believing in dream rocks or anything on indian beliefs is not of God. |
Bible Answer: I will give you Scripture and keep it real simple. The word believe in just the book of John, in one form or the other, is used ninety two times; in the Koine Greek of the New Testament it is the word PISTEUO. To execute the full meaning of the word PISTEUO, as believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, as used in the English language, one must have a one hundred percent trust in the person of Christ and that doesn't mean sharing even one percent with anything else, even a rock. Did you ever read in Proverbs where it says, trust in the Lord with part of your heart and trust in a rock for the rest, or something to that effect. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. The only time one is to believe in a rock is when that rock is a reference to the Lord Himself. Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. The word believe, is a transitive verb which requires a subject and an object, the credit goes to the object not the subject i.e. the object of believe must always be the Lord Jesus Christ or the Word of God. The strongest faith in the world is no better then the object of that faith! I don't mean to ruffle your, excuse the pun, feathers. CDBJ |
