Subject: unaffordable annulllment-How to? |
Bible Note: Dear Tim...Your answer sounds like an answer "from a Catholic"....or Ex-Catholic :-) Please do not be a stumbling block. You may rationalize all you want but the Bible is clear. If you were not a Christian when you were married then it should not matter, what matters is if you were a Christian when married and went against the words of Jesus to receive a divorce. If free consent is lacking a marriage may be declared null and void. The remarriage of persons divorced from a living, lawful spouse controvenes the plan and the law of God as taught by Christ. There is no gray area here. It is very Biblical and should be taken very seriously. The Catholic Church did not put words in the mouth of Jesus. It is sad that many Protestant Churches do. Irreconcilabe differences indeed! None the less, Christians who divorce are not seperated from His church and should/must still live a Christian life. If you were married in the presence of God, in His church, you are obligated to keep His commands as surly as those in Exodus 20. If you have to choose between what some Christians say about divorce and what Jesus said Himself, then you put your faith in the wrong position. There simply is no choice. Like it or not. :-) God Bless....Jensen |
