Bible Question: Should we pray for world peace? What does the Bible say about the possibility of world peace in this life. |
Bible Answer: Kiss, in all our prayers, it is our burden to acknowledge and be in submission to the sovereignty of the Almighty God, thus ending our every petition with "Thy will be done." Jesus certainly did speak of "wars and rumors of wars" but that does not preclude our being justified to pray that God's "will be done on earth as it is in heaven." There will never be perfect peace on earth so long as sin remains. But we can pray for the peace of God to indwell in our hearts and in His church to keep us from the evil one (John 17:15) and for "the peace of Jerusalem." (Psalm 122:6) --Hank |
