Bible Question:
Can you tell me the place in the Bible where it says that it is wrong to unite with other churches. Can we worship together as one church??? I don't think so as the uniting of all churches is talked about in the last days is it not?? |
Bible Answer: There is only one true Church. This Church consists of all the true believers alive on this earth at the present moment. There are true believers and conterfeits in almost any "Christian" church. Only God can see their true hearts and motives. My objective is to love all people towards becoming whole-hearted followers of Jesus. Therefore, if a person or group confesses Christ as Lord and God, then I would have no problem worshipping with this person or group. However, if said group does not follow clear and plain teaching of the Bible (as I interpret them of course) in regards to Christ and the fact that he is God from the beginning who took on flesh to provide a way of redemption for an absolutely lost and depraved world, then I cannot in clear conscience, join with such a group in worship and fellowship. That is my opinion at this time but I would love to hear more from others and discuss other views. I recently read a book by Chuck Colson called "The Body". It expanded my thinking in a lot of ways and would recommend it to everyone. (This is not to say that I agreed 100 percent with everything he wrote.) Agape Love to all. Ray |
