Bible Question: My son and I were talking last night the decussion was about him being free. He says that he feels like he is being contained in this glass and he wants to be free. He says he wants to experience paradise? so where is paradise for the people who have not died? He's experiencing things where he's been here before? |
Bible Answer: Paradise is heaven. Harper's Bible Dictionary defines it as a location or status of uninterrupted bliss. The word paradise is of Persian origin and denotes a park or forest. Since the Bible lands were often barren, it is not surprising that such and image would be meaningful. Paul speaks of Paradise in connection with his vision of the "third heaven" (2Cor 12:1-4). In Luke 23:42-43 when the thief asks Jesus to remember him when Jesus came in His kingship, Jesus replied that that day he would be with Him in paradise. I don't believe that one can be in a state of total bliss while on this earth. We are continuously going through trials and temptations to help us mature in Christ. Please explain what you mean when you say he's experiencing things where he's been before. Does he think he was reincarnated? |
