Subject: Justify Leviticus 20:13 |
Bible Note: Matthew 5:37-39 keep that cheek turned. Let's remember Jesus' primary command ('cf John 13:34)and keep ourselves in check since we will all be judged on our own merits. Jesus does not condemn, but God's Spirit gently works with our own consciouses and hearts to restore us to Him - to be living God's kingdom not our own flesh (or other) desires. If that means we are called to repentance for sexual sin (homosexual or otehrwise) then that will be for the eventual good of the person concerned. reach out in love, rooted in Jesus' words. Throwing around OT scripture can be hurtful and condemning like this does not show the real life changing power of God. So shoudl it be changed? Why should the verse be changed? Does the bible stand up today as 6,000 years ago? Why not? Does God change? |
