Subject: Will sin enter heaven? |
Bible Note: Hi Jeff, Well, the whole of scripture teaches this for starters. Nowhere does it say we (as believers) ever "stop sinning".We have a dual nature according to Rom. 7:15 and Gal. 5:16-17, as examples. "The manifestation of sin that is easiest to understand and recognize is that which occurs when we do something that is unlike what God would do. This has been called by some personal sin, and is exemplified by 1 Jn. 1:10: “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us” (NASB). In this manifestation of sin, the inward bent toward being unlike God comes to the surface, and includes the kinds of things described in Gal. 5:19: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like."
