Bible Question: In a Bible Study I have, a question was raised. It is about a Comparison of the Created World to the Eternal World. In the Created World, Gen 1:27 talks about Man being created. In the Eternal World, Rev 21:3 talks about Man being in God's Presence. How is this a comparison? The person who asked didn't get the connection and I'm not sure how to answer his question. Thank you. |
Bible Answer: This is not an answer to your question. I'm just wondering why you call it an "Eternal World?" It was created too, just like this world. The Bible calls it a NEW earth not an eternal earth. God is eternal because He has no beginning and He does not exist in time. He is the only eternal. All else is created and has a beginning. Granted, the new earth will have no end, but it would be incorrect to call it eternal. Besides, Man himself will be a new creation. (2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.) And before the Fall man lived in the presence of God (Gen 3:8 They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.) as he will again in the new heaven and earth. |
