Bible Question:
Shalom y'all, I've just finished reading the end of Isaiah and a thought occurred to me that has never entered my mind before, so I thought I'd run by you folks. I know that we, as believers are promised healing (though not necessarily here in this life). I also believe that with that healing we will have perfected bodies (at the resurrection and in the world to come). My question is this: will unbelievers have "fixed" bodies to take into their judgment? Or will they go into eternity as they were when they died, toothless, blind, deaf, one armed or one legged, paraplegic, etc.? I can't think of any scripture that focuses on that aspect concerning unbelievers. Does anyone else know? My thinking is that they will not receive perfected bodies (since that is a part of the work of the Cross), but I was just wondering.... Thanks :-) Cheri |
Bible Answer: Greetings Cheri - check out Rev 21:5 - God says that He is making all things new (not all new things). This comes after those whose names are not found in the book of life are thrown into the lake of fire - the second death - eternal separation from God. Also from Jesus teaching on sin in Mt 18:8 "If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire." It appears that unbeliever's bodies are "fixed." The "impaired" believer has the promised hope of restoration! I hope this helps. Blessings, mommapbs |
