AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Bible Question: Hello! I would really appreciate it, if somebody could answer this question: Does one go to heaven only if he believes in Jesus? You can't go to heaven only beacause of your good works do you? How would you explain why is that so? |
Bible Answer: I believe John 14:6 is pretty clear. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. So if you do not believe you do not go to the Father. That's probably why there are so much savings to do for a christian, I suppose. What about good works? I watched a play "Heaven's gate Hell's fire" before accepting the Lord and I asked the same question too. Could not find a satisfactory answer then. But later as I walked further, I began to understand God's Grace (In the book of Romans and Galatians) about the holy spirit in you and of "dead works" which can mean good deeds becoming insignificant. Its not easy to explain in just a few paragraphs. I would recommend that you study Romans and Galatians and one book "The foundations for righteous living" by Derek Prince. That answered my question in addition to others. God Bless |
