Bible Question: Someone asked me for what the woman in Revelation 17 and 18 represented? He wants to believe it is representative of the catholic church. I wanted to get some opinions about this. |
Bible Answer: The great whore of Revelation is the control system against God. Most scholars will declare that it is false religion. However, false religion is only one component part. If it was only false religion, the command would not be "...come out of her, my people..." (Revelation 18:4). The command would have been "come out of her, you Pagans." The ship captains would not be throwing dirt on their heads (Revelation 18:17-19), if the whore (Babylon) was only false religion. The whore is the control system against God and it is in full swing in today's world. |
