AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 1:8 ¶ "I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End]," says the Lord God, "Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all]." [Is 9:6] |
Bible Question: I believe that Jesus is part of the trinity and is God. I'vve been searching the scriptures to find if Jesus did call himself God. The verse that comes close is John 10:30...I and My Father are one. This morning I ran across another verse, Revalation 1:8. Is Jesus talking in this verse? ..."I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Is Jesus calling himself God by saying the Almighty? I think yes because it correlates to the verse Revelations 22:13. Does anyone think these verses also correlate with Isaiah 41:4. I do believe that God is talking in thhe Isaiah verse. Comments please. Thankyou! |
Bible Answer: The Lord Jesus called himself I AM. Going back to Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.” John 8:58 Jesus replied, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM. [Exod. 3:14.] John 13:19 “From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He (I AM) Luke 22:70 And they all said, You are the Son of God, then? And He said to them, It is just as you say; I AM. John 12:45 “He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. John 14:9 Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father? |
