Bible Question:
Greetings I have a problem understanding the book of revelation. Is it a prophetic book or not and how can we relate it to our christian warefare?I'm a newly born-again and I'm curious to know more.please help. aurrance |
Bible Answer: Aurrance, That is great that you are so on fire to know the word of God. It is recommended that you get a Bible commentary. Their is a Pastor Tim Lahaye,(one of the authors of the Left behind series, that has a book out about Revelation. Remember that the book of Revelation is the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is all about him and his second coming. What type of Bible do you have? If you get a chance, go check out the Spirit Filled Bible. The uniqueness of the last book of the bible is apparent in the first word Revelation or in the original,Apokalupis. This word meaning the unveiling, is the orgin of our word apocalypic, a type of writing found in Daniel,Ezekiel and Zechariah in the O.T., but only here in the New. It refers to the prophetic visions of the future that uses symbols, figures, and other literary devices. |
