AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 1:11 saying, "Write on a scroll what you see [in this revelation], and send it to the seven churches--to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea." |
Bible Question: If Revelation was written after 90AD, why is the Temple still standing in Chapter 11. When it was already destroyed in 70AD. And since it was destroyed in 70AD why dosent John mention that catastrohic event that ended all of the Jewish Religion of that day. Love in Christ Jesus. RC |
Bible Answer: R.C. In the verse above, and again below, John is told, explicitly by The Lord to: write in in a book what he sees: and nowhere in, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, is he given instructions to do otherwise! By not mentioning the events of 70 A.D. he is simply being obedient to the Lord. Shouldn't we do the same and not read into it, what is NOT there? Indeed there is a grave warning about this very thing contained in (Rev 22:18) that many expositors fail to head! Rev 1:11 saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea." It is very clear what John's instructions are! And remember: NONE of it is John's idea! Shalom John |
