Subject: where has this verse gone |
Bible Note: Hi Ray, I agree there are other scripture verses that testify to the tri unity of God, as Matthew 28:16, the baptismal formula. The Father testified about the Son and the Son testified about the Spirit. There are many versed that do support the unity of God and not a god with 3 heads, as some would say. 1 John5:7 was added to a few vatican manuscripts to solidify that position. Whether it is biblical is not the question. The question is : 'is God one'? or is God solitary? The Hebrew shows that God is one, not solitary. We know that man and woman become one flesh, the same hebrew word used for the unity of God, used for the unity of man and woman in marriage. If God was only God and not a unity, the word yachid would have been used, as it was in Genesis 12, where God asked Abraham to offer his only 'yachid' son. That's all for now Rich |
