NASB | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God's seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again--who is reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. |
Subject: Who makes the rules? |
Bible Note: Baptistbred In response to your four questions who says it is our responsibility to make those calls? The word says man looks at the outward appearance but God sees inside. God is the one that makes those decisions not us. If we see someone doing something wrong we are to rebuke and encourage him back on track, it is his decision to follow or continue in sin. There is no way for any us as mortal beings to be able to declare how God views a person. We may have a clue from what they say or do but none of us really know the state of their heart. Who makes the rules? Why God of course! Who enforces the rules? Again God. Who is the final Judge? Once again God? EdB |
