AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:4 Whoever says, "I have come to know Him," but does not habitually keep [focused on His precepts and obey] His commandments (teachings), is a liar, and the truth [of the divine word] is not in him. |
Bible Question: How do these passages relate 1 John 2:4 and Mark 16:16 What you went through is not the question, I asked How do these passages relate? |
Bible Answer: Grace and Truth: this exchange of views on baptismal regeneration has gone on for days. Clearly, there are those on this Forum who subscribe to positions that differ from yours. From your posts, I understood your agenda in asking this question and chose to answer accordingly. 1 John 2:4 says, "If someone says, "I belong to God," but doesn't obey God's commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in the truth." Are you suggesting that those who do not agree with your interpretation of Mark 16:16 (only those who believe and are baptized, meaning water immersion, will be saved) are disobeying God's command? Are you willing to go so far as to call those who do not subscribe to this brand of theology "liars?" |
