NASB | 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. [His word does not live in our hearts.] |
Subject: Sinlessness |
Bible Note: Dear God His Help, While I have read Romans 6 in its' entirety and understand it, the text does not proclaim our sinlessness! It merely points forth that even though we are under grace, it(grace) is not a license to sin. Are you advocating that a believer can acheive sinless perfection? I would advocate that our goal is not to stop sinning, but rather to walk by faith and not sight.( 2 Cor. 5:7) Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |
