NASB | 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:7 but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. |
Bible Question (short): Can God forgive all sin? |
Question (full): My husband and I having a discussion about forgivness. I recently heard a interview with Son of Sam (a serial killer from the 70's) He is claiming to be a born again christian. The disagreement we are having is that I believe that God will forgive all sin, my husband believes that this guy cannot be forgiven and that will not go to heaven. I have tried to explain the power of Jesus Christ's blood, but I can't seem to get it across to him in a way that he can understand. What can I do to explain that God is a forgiving God and sin is sin. |
