Bible Note: Hello Searcher, "I don't think Noah preached. Only Noah was found righteous (Gen 6:9) and we are not saved by the acts of anyone else" It took me a while to look up supporting scripture that Noah preached. But I did find it. Please notice, "...a preacher of righteousness..." (2Pe 2:5). Gen 6:18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 2Pe 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; As fathers, we have an enourmous influence over our families, but we must use that influence to save our families. Abraham used his influence to force his servants and children to cut their flesh through circumcision. Obedience is important to salvation as for those that sprinkled blood on their door posts in Egypt. Also, God thought so much of Abraham's command of his house that He informed him of the judgement coming on Sodom and Gomorrah: Gen 18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Gen 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? Gen 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
