1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy--acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. Bible Question: Are there any Scriptures in the Bible that say that can you or you can't do outside business in the church? |
Bible Answer: There are no texts that I can find that explicitly answer your question, however, the Bible on a whole assumes that you will be interacting with those outside the community of believers. Israel was placed at the crossroads of the ancient world to be a light for the nations. We are to be a light of the world. It is difficult to do this when we are not doing business with the world. I may have misunderstood your question. If so, please clarify. If you mean, "Can we do secular business inside the local church building?" Then this is a separate question which deserves a separate answer. MJH |
