AMPLIFIED 2015 | Joshua 5:14 He said, "No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of the LORD." Then Joshua fell with his face toward the earth and bowed down, and said to him, "What does my lord have to say to his servant?" |
Bible Question: So god has an army. That would seem to be the case in numbers. God seems to be able to do most anything he/she wants. Why would god need an army? |
Bible Answer: Buddhist 2 -- "Why would god need an army?" ..... First of all, in compliance with standard English usage, you should capitalize the word "God" when referring to the one and only God of all things. And Scripture never uses the awkward construction of "he/she" in reference to God. .... Secondly, the scriptural answer to your question is that God does not "need" anything (see Acts 17:25); however, Scripure is replete with examples where God chose to use human vessels to carry out His purpose. ..... I don't know whether I'm addressing a Buddhist. From your user name and in view of a complete lack of any auxiliary information about you, I assume I am. If you are Buddhist, what prompts you to use a Christian forum such as this? If you come to it with a sincere spirit of wanting to learn about God's word, you are most welcome. If, on the other hand, you come merely as kibitzer or scoffer, you will discover early on that this will not be tolerated. So, are you Buddhist and what do you wish to do for the Forum and have it do for you? We'd all appreciate honest answers to these questions. --Hank |
