Subject:  Lying justified?

Bible Note:  Greetings MJH,

I must apologize to Pastor Tim (Morant61) since I remember opposing him on this issue of "is it Ok to lie" in the Bible, and I took the point of view that it seems justifiably so in some instances that you also have provided. But spiritual growth and insight has shown me that, regardless of whatever man does (lies or does not lie), God does not need any help!

God does not need our help. He is God. If He wanted the spies in Rahab's day to live, then He would have provided the way, perhaps even more profoundly so if Rahab wouldn't have tried to "help" Him.

You say that "'Life' trumps most things"... Well, God trumps ALL things!

Righteousness is never granted due to a transgression. Righteousness is granted by grace to a person whose heart is right with God, and such a person would rather be vexed in spirit instead of consider themselves 'justified' because they thought that they could, in some way, help God by transgressing his law at some point.
