Bible Question:
Does God guarantee prosperity to the righteous? Reading from James 5:4-6 it appears that the righteous man was a laborer working in the fields that had his wages witheld by the wealthy landowner. Since he was living hand to mouth, he eventually died. If God did guarantee prosperity to the righteous this could never have occured. Is this a reasonable interpretation to this verse, or am I way off? Thanks! Huron |
Bible Answer: The Health and Wealth preaching is twisting Scripture. While they may cite Scripture, Jesus Himself was poor (Matt 17:24-27). Job was a righteous man and his lost everything (Job 1-2) ... yes he got it back. There is more Scripture to prove God DOES NOT guarantee prosperity to the righteous. |
