Bible Question: I lay in bed one night, prompted by what I believe was the Holy Spirit asking me a question, which is not an unuasal form of communing for me. He asked, "is there a difference between believing IN God vs. Believing God? Any thoughts or insight? |
Bible Answer: Greetings 7723 NE 4th plain, #c.. James 2:19 "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that- and shudder." [NIV] We can say that we believe in God, but if the "fruit" that comes from us, as a result of a personal relationship with God, does not reflect the fact of our genuine saving faith (see post# 8364), then our 'belief' or 'head knowledge' is no better than the monotheism that is expressed by demons.
