NASB | James 2:14 ¶ What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 2:14 ¶ What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient--genuine faith produces good works.] |
Bible Question: in james 2:14 what did james measn when he said if a man claims to have faith but has no "deeds" what did deeds mean in this verse. |
Bible Answer: James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Your works are following in the steps of Christ and following after the law as evidenced by your faith to show that the law is indeed righteous James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? In simple terms you cannot claim to have faith and then act contrary to the will of our Father which is in heaven. His will is set forth in both the Old and New Coventants Ecclesiates 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. |
