Bible Answer: Hi, bevr... Welcome to the forum! In Adam's sin, all of his descendants shared his guilt (Romans 5:12). There is no other way to salvation than through the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Before the time of Christ, those saved did not know His name, nonetheless, they were saved through Christ's atonement alone (cf Hebrews 10-11). There were some teachings by Medieval Church and some contemporary Dispensationalists that there was an interim holding place for the dead. However, that doctrine is not taught in Scripture.
