NASB | Hebrews 9:2 For there was a tabernacle prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the sacred bread; this is called the holy place. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 9:2 A tabernacle (sacred tent) was put up, the outer one or first section, in which were the lampstand and the table with [its loaves of] the sacred showbread; this is called the Holy Place. [Lev 24:5, 6] |
Bible Question: Is this the same holy place that Jesus spoke of in Matt 24:15,"Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),"? The lack of capitalization causes me to wonder a bit. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Mommapbs, I believe that it probably is that same holy place, spoken of in Hebrews 9:2, since the man of sin (2 Thess. 2:4), the Antichrist, will break the covenant he made with the Jewish people (Dan. 9:27) and will demand that they and the world worship him. Those who don't worship him will be persecuted, and many will be martyred- which gives the reason for urgency in Matt. 24:16-22. Blessings to you, Makarios |
